Jerry Slaten was a pilot and the oldest friend of Colonel David Crenshaw. He left the Air Force and went to fly for a PMC, and when the Air Force reactivated H.A.W.X. squadron, declined to return. Sometime prior to October 2021, his PMC attacked Salamanca oil refinery in Mexico. H.A.W.X. flight was defending, and Crenshaw was forced to shoot down Slaten, although he offered him the chance to pull out. His remains were later buried, and Crenshaw visited the grave.
